Remember a couple of months ago how we were complaining how cold it was? Well summer is now in full swing in metro Detroit and things are really starting to heat up. Here are a couple of local waterparks/splash spots that will help you and your family beat the heat.

Red Oaks Water Park

The Madison Heights based waterpark features various pools and splash zones that kids and adults are sure to enjoy. For the kids, the park features the Terrific Tides wave action pool, a triple-fume waterslide, and a Soak Station that has over 60 features including water jets, slides, and a tipping water bucket. The park also has a Spray & Play station for toddlers which features different water jets and bubblers at zero depth.

The waterpark also features a 990-foot River Ride. Guests can walk laps around the moving river or relax in an inter-tube. Red Oaks also hosts a River Walk every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this summer until August 19 from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Waterford Oaks Water Park

Another Oakland County Park that features water park fun for the whole family is the Waterford Oaks Waterpark. The park features a tropical Wave Pool, a children’s playground complete with over 30 interactive activities, and the Ragin’ Rapids group raft ride. The 515 foot long slide takes riders through numerous drops and turns before reaching the splash down pool at the bottom.

Troy Family Aquatic Center

For families looking for a waterpark and other outdoor activities, the Troy Aquatic Center offers a little something for everyone. The waterpark is complete with water slides, a splash pad and zero depth entry pool for children, and lap lanes for more experienced swimmers.

The park also has sand areas for those looking to get out of the water. Guests can enjoy the sand volleyball and sand play areas along with the water park.

Rolling Hills Water Park

The Rolling Hills Waterpark in Ypsilanti has something for the whole family to enjoy as the park features water slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, and a water playground for kids. Families can relax near the pool with comfortable lounge chairs and there’s a zero depth pool area that toddlers can safely play in.
