Ah, Independence Day. A day to remember that one time Will Smith saved everyone from an alien invasion and we all ate a bunch of hot dogs to celebrate…

This year, Independence Day lands on a Wednesday, which is kind of a bummer for those of us typically grinding away at work during the week. Due to this snafoo in extended weekend plans, many places are holding their annual 4th of July fireworks displays the weekend prior to the big day.

Find out for yourself where you can catch a glimpse of these dazzling, patriotic displays in Metro Detroit!

Freedom Fireworks at Addison Oaks County Park – June 29

Kick off the weekend in Addison Oaks County Park with face painting, patriotic art projects, clowns, pony rides and more. The fireworks display will light up the park starting at 10 p.m. Parking fees will vary depending on whether you are a resident or not and whether you arrive before noon.
