5 Can’t Miss Events During Oktoberfest in the D

Fall is around the corner and we all know what that means, Oktoberfest! This is just one more reason to have tasty beer, celebrate and party all month long. Oktoberfest will be all over the Metro Detroit area starting in September and of course throughout October. Not only will there be beer, but traditional German cuisine and family friendly activities.  Take a look at these can’t miss events in the D and bring Oktoberfest in with a KNALL (bang)!

frame located in Hazel Park is hosting a feast of beers if you will. At $45 a person, you can enjoy german beers, wine and German-inspired cocktails. There will also be a four course seated meal for everyone as well as delicious goodies for the table to share such as warm pretzels, Herring in cream sauce and German mustard.

Celebrate at Detroit Shipping Company and you can kick off hockey season at the same time with none other than BEER! There will be live music for attendees to listen to as they enjoy samples from some of the best local breweries around. Bell’s, Brew Detroit and Shorts will even be on tap to name a few. Join the party in The Belt! There will be a German menu, live music and of course German beers to go around. But here is more, all of your proceeds go to Hatch Detroit, a special program that helps individuals participate in the redevelopment of Detroit through entrepreneurship. So dance the night away with The Skip and Batch Brewing!

19th Annual OktoBBQ Fest

Oktoberfest is kicking off in Royal Oak! This year there will be two days full of live music, craft beer, food, shopping and a kids zone. All children under the age of 12 get in free. Veterans and Active-Duty with Military ID get in free as well. Everyone else can enjoy the festivities for $3.

What’s better than a beer fest and food trucks? Nothing! It doesn’t get any better than this. Some of the brews to sample will include Griffin Claw Brewing Company (GCBC), New Belgium Brewing and  Founders Brewing Co.. Bavarian Inn Cluck Truck will be the guest food truck for the evening. Additional food trucks such as The Mac Shack will be serving up some of their best Oktoberfest dishes as well.
