We’ve gotten a taste of spring weather these past few weeks, and metro Detroiters haven’t missed out on their opportunity to take advantage of it. Temps may have dropped again, but the warm weather tease was just enough to get us excited for more daylight, outdoor activities, and even the ultimate warm weather tradition, baseball! With that in mind, here are some upcoming fairs, festivals, and expos that will help you continue forward with the transition from these dreary winter days to the beautiful spring days ahead.
Rock Sugar at the Rust Belt Market (March 12)
When the temps begin to rise, that can only mean one thing: it’s almost wedding season! The Rock Sugar wedding show will take place this weekend at the Rust Belt Market in downtown Ferndale. Local indie wedding and crafters will be on hand to show off work samples and book appointments for you to craft your perfect wedding. Plus, the first 50 brides/grooms will get a tote bag filled with goodies from the vendors so be sure to get there early!
Downriver Indie Craft Fair (March 17-18)
If you are looking to update your home or wardrobe, look no further than next weekend’s Downriver Indie Craft Fair. Over 50 independent crafters and artists will fill the Downriver Council for the Arts for a weekend of beautiful, unique artwork. You can find vintage and homemade clothing, jewelry, vintage artwork, and Michigan-themed art and photography.
Family Expo (March 25)
Summit Academy North and Summit Academy Flat Rock will be hosting their annual Family Expo on March 25. The expo is to teach families how to get their kids ready for college, learn healthy lifestyles to implement with the changing of the seasons, and how to gain access to services provided by the local community.
Festival of Laughs (March 31)
If you’re in need of some comedic relief after the insanely inconsistent winter we’ve had, the Festival of Laughs has just what you’re looking for. Mike Epps and Sommore will be headlining the event at Joe Louis Arena on March 31.
Novi Home & Garden Show (March 31- April 2)
