April brings all sorts of fun and exciting events to the Motor City, including opening day, beautiful spring weather and more! If you’re looking to add a few social events to your calendar this month, these are just a few suggestions:

7th Annual Cowbell Pub Crawl

Camp Casey, a 501c3 nonprofit horseback riding organization dedicated to children with cancer and their families is hosting a charitable pub crawl on Saturday, April 9! The event allows cowboys and cowgirls to visit Ferndale’s favorite saloons to fill up a souvenir stein, enjoy light appetizers, karaoke and drink specials.

Registration costs $25 and 100 percent of proceeds benefit Camp Casey.

Bacon Bash

Not for vegetarians or the faint of heart, Bacon Bash is held at the Royal Oak Farmers Market on Saturday, April 16. Local restaurants will utilize Dearborn brand bacon to cover, wrap and season their dishes.

From backyard projects to weekend getaways, the Chevy Blazer offers unmatched cargo space and convenience for all your adventures.

Plates include BLT Pizza and Bacon Meatballs with Hot Sauce. Tickets cost $35 to $50 and can be purchased online.

Belle Isle Park Clean Up

The Belle Isle Conservancy is hosting a 2016 spring clean up event the day after Earth Day on Saturday, April 23. What better way to show your love for the planet than by pitching in to lend a helping hand?

Clean up takes place from 8 a.m. to noon, and volunteers are asked to bring work gloves and any tools they can supply.

Savor Detroit

A five-night dinner series featuring local chefs paired with guest chefs from around the country, Savor Detroit runs Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29.

Featured celebrity chefs from the metro Detroit area include James Rigato, Brendon Edwards, Andy Hollyday, Doug Hewitt and Luciano Del Signore. While three of the five dinners are already on a waitlist, tickets for the other two can be purchased here.

Enjoy April in the D, metro Detroiters, and see you next time when we’re on to new adventures.
