Where can you see hundreds of custom hot rods, meet celebrities from WWE and Nascar, see trucks shoot flames out of their exhaust pipes and jam out to live rockabilly bands all in one weekend in one location? AutoRama, of course!

Now in its 66th year, the North American hot rod show is making its way to Cobo Center in Detroit March 2-4 and promises all of the above and more.

The Ridler Award

To honor the late Don Ridler, who was known for his athleticism, professionalism and creativity, AutoRama created the Rider Award after he passed away in 1963 at age 54. When the award was originally instated, it was to award the “Best Vehicle” shown for the first time at the show. Today, the Ridler Award has more precise qualifications: “creativity, engineering and quality workmanship.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr., Charlotte Flair & More!

AutoRama at Cobo Center is poised to be a star-studded event. WWE wrestlers Charlotte Flair and Roman Reigns will be in attendance at individual meeting times. Barry Meguiar of car care product company Meguiar’s Inc. will be signing autographs on Saturday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. And, for all of you Nascar fans, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be there on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. Try not to get too starstruck!

Adventure starts with a vehicle that’s up for anything. Trailblazer combines comfort you want, the versatility you need, and the technology to make every moment count.

The Cars of ‘Fate of the Furious’

Fans of the Fast and the Furious franchise will love this one. The 2018 AutoRama is your chance to see cars featured in the latest installment of the high-octane, action-packed franchise, like the ‘66 Chevy Corvette Stingray, up close and personal…free of high-speed chases and cars exploding.

Rock-a-Billy Bands

All weekend long, rockabilly bands will be performing on stage, such as a Blues Brothers tribute band playing Friday at 3 p.m. a Johnny Cash tribute band Friday at 5 and 7 p.m. and Twistin’ Tarantulas on Saturday and Sunday and scheduled intervals. Jam out while you check out the coolest cars you’ve ever seen.

Motor City Auto Art Panel Jam & Charity Auction

The Motor City Auto Art Mavens will be at this year’s AutoRama, creating original pieces of painted art for auction. The Mavens are a completely volunteer-based group that teaches others the art of brush and paint. Proceeds from auctioned art pieces go directly to Leader Dogs for the Blind.

This is just a taste of everything going on at AutoRama at Cobo Center this year. What are you looking forward to most? The hot rods? The celebs? The original artwork? Let us know on Facebook or Twitter!
