It’s hard to believe that today is the first day of September. If, like me, fall is your favorite season, your veins are likely pumping with cinnamon sugar-y excitement, and you can’t wait for your first glass of cold cider.

Perhaps you’re having a hard time letting summer go, but either way, the following local events taking place throughout September will provide great fun. Let’s take a look!

B4: Brew, Brats & Bands at the Barn is set for Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Cady-Boyer Barn in Canton. The 6th annual event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a $25 ticket gets you seven drink samples, as many brats as you want and a beer tasting mug to take home.

Throughout the night, enjoy live music by The Dale Hicks Band. Designated driver tickets are also available for $10, and tickets at the door cost $30. This year’s event will benefit the Canton Historical Society.

From backyard projects to weekend getaways, the Chevy Blazer offers unmatched cargo space and convenience for all your adventures.

The Garden Party on Belle Isle takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and serves as a fundraiser to restore the Lily Pond, which has quite a history. From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., enjoy cocktails, snacks and music by Ben Sharkey. Tickets start at $50 ($55 at the door) and also include donation levels of $150 and $250.

The event is for a great cause, and you’ll get to spend an evening in the beautiful Belle Isle gardens!

Bacon Bash: Bacon, Barrels & BBQ is back for its fall edition on Thursday, Sept. 17 at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. The event will feature cuisine made with nearly half a dozen different types of Dearborn brand bacon, by participating eateries like Brave Dave’s Salsa, Stonewood Smokehouse Bar & BBQ and Clara’s Place. Pulled Bacon BLT Sliders or Cajun BBQ Shrimp Wrapped in Bacon, anyone?

There will also be plenty of cocktails to choose from! Early bird general admission tickets cost $35 (with 10 beverage tokens), while VIP tickets cost $55 (with 15 beverage tokens). Both tickets include unlimited food samples. General admission is at 7:30 p.m. with VIP admission an hour early.

Add a few of these events to your calendar this month, and you’ll be a social butterfly in no time!
