There are so many great events happening this month in metro Detroit, like the new halfpipe opening in the Fisher Building, the Great Lakes Art Fair and Detroit by Detroit. And that doesn’t even begin to touch on all of the great food & drink events, too! From bacon to booze to brunch, below you’ll find five food & drink events happening in April in metro Detroit.
Bacon Bash
Kicking off this month of food and drink events is Bacon Bash at the Royal Oak Farmers Market on Saturday, April 8 from 7:30-11 p.m. Ticket holders will have access to more than 40 eateries and 80+ beer, wine & cocktail selections. For bacon wrapped, dipped and coated everything and well-paired beverages, look no further than this bacon lover’s dream.
Royal Oak Beer Fest – Spring Fever Beer Club
As one of four events put on by Royal Oak Beer Fest, the aptly named Spring Fever Beer Club returns this year on Saturday, April 22 from 7:30-11 p.m. Ticket holders will have the chance to sample more than 50 brews and spirits. Some of the breweries in attendance include Rochester Mills Beer Co., Roak Brewing, Motor City Brewing Works, Great Lakes Brewing Co. and Founders Brewing Co. Wine, spirits, hard cider and more will also be available.
Savor Detroit
Hour Detroit’s semi-annual event, Savor Detroit, kicks off April 24 and runs for five nights. Each night a culinary team-up of two renowned Detroit-area chefs will come together to prepare for you a four-course meal with wine pairings. There will also be a cocktail hour with light appetizers, live entertainment and art installations from a local artist. Act fast. Tickets to three out of five nights have already sold out.
Detroit Gin and Vodka Festival
April 28 marks the first annual Detroit Gin and Vodka Festival, which will begin at 6 p.m. and wrap up at 10 p.m. It will take place at Shed 3 of Eastern Market and attendees will be given 12 beverage samples that can be redeemed for mixed cocktail samples or straight liquor samples. Representatives from popular gin and vodka brands will be on hand to talk about their products. Food will also be available at an extra cost.
Royal Oak Brunch Bites
At Brunch Bites in downtown Royal Oak, 12 Royal Oak restaurants will come together for one big, super brunch. Tickets are on sale now for the April 29 event and each ticket will allow you to visit any of the 12 restaurants in an order of your choosing. Each restaurant will have food and drink samples available to all attendees. Some restaurants to expect include Andiamo Trattoria, Bigaloria, Cafe Muse, The Morrie, Pronto! and more.
