Beer Battered and Fried in Metro Detroit

Everything is better deep fried, crispy on the outside gooey on the inside, mmmm yummy! There are two major reasons why beer battered food is delicious. Beer. Fried. Need I say more? Plus you can have a cold beer while you’re frying up and trying out some of your favorites dishes.

Onion Rings
Onion Rings are a oldie but goodie. Where do you go for crispy lightly battered onion rings? Greenwich Pub located in Cadillac Square is where. Plus Harry, the owner, makes sure that everything that comes out of the kitchen is perfection on a plate. Don’t forget to drizzle some bbq sauce over the top of them while they are hot.

Beer Battered Potato Wedges
Potato Wedges are just fries on steroids, but beer battered fried wedges are pure heaven. Traffic Jam and Snug  is where you can find these fries on steroids! They are covered in a special house beer batter. I hear they are great when paired with the fish. The dish is called Londontown fish and chips.

Zucchini Chips
For a slightly more healthy choice, zucchini is the way to go: but it’s always great to add a little twist. Breaded and smothered in a batter and deep fried to lightly crisp crunch. Go to Pronto’s in Royal Oak! Everything is made fresh to order so you won’t be disappointed. Oh and don’t forget the side of ranch for dipping.

Oreos
Oreos are a childhood favorite. But now they have been reinvented! Roll them in batter and drop in hot grease for a sinful treat.  Get your taste buds ready for the Clubhouse BFD located in Rochester. Their motto is: “Craft beer shrine & juried gallery exhibit of the brewing arts”.

Fish and Chips
What is better than “old faithful” fish and chips? But who has the best in town?  Served on a cutting board are two perfectly fried cod fillets with a side of hand cut fries seasoned with the houses secret seasoning. Oh and don’t forget the side of house-made slaw. Get a plate of deep fried fish and chip heaven from the Sardine Room.
