Unleash the power of adventure with the Chevy Silverado's impressive towing capacity.
Heading back to school can be hard for students and parents. There’s a lot to prepare for, not to mention the social anxiety many students face with a new school year. These events in Metro Detroit are here to help you ease into the 2018-2019 school year, so you can spend less time worrying and more time learning.
This is the last weekend to donate school supplies through EK Fashion in Dearborn. They’re taking pencils, books, rulers, folders, ball point pens, notebooks and more. You can also “sponsor a youth” for $10-$30, providing enough money to equip a child with necessary school supplies.
The Disability Network Wayne County-Detroit is holding a free event for the public on Saturday, August 25. The event will provide free school supplies, backpacks, food, music, raffles and more. Attendees can register for a free backpack at the event. Backpacks are first come first serve. Hosted by iBlossom Organics, this Back to School Rally will provide students with free haircuts and hairstyles, school supplies and dental checkups with an on-site dentist. The purpose of the event is to give students a boost of confidence as they enter a new school year. You can find this event on Joy Road in Detroit on Saturday, September 1. Unleash the power of adventure with the Chevy Silverado's impressive towing capacity. The second leading cause of death among people ages 15-24 is suicide. Suicide has increased 300% in adolescents since 2010. As these numbers climb, it has become more important than ever to raise awareness about suicide and actively work to prevent it. The Detroit-Wayne Mental Health Authority is hosting such an event for free at Ford Field on Saturday, September 15 that will provide information on where to find resources, how to create a support system, how to develop healthy habits and more. This event is raising funds for the Jordan & Ashley Siegel Scholarship Fund with live entertainment, food, beer & wine, raffles and more. The scholarship fund provides funds for Royal Oak students and their families facing financial hardship. They support programs, like 6th Grade Camp @ Camp Copneconic, Pay to Play Sports, Band & Orchestra, 8th Grade Class Trip to Washington D.C. and more. iBlossom Organics Back to School Rally
