If you had to choose between your favorite Michigan beer and your beloved dessert of preference, which would you pick? Thankfully, the following sweet events at local restaurants and breweries in southeast Michigan bring some of your favorite indulgences together: beer, wine and dessert.

Here are some of the tasty pairing events coming soon:

Tom’s Oyster Bar

Celebrate Valentine’s Day early at this Royal Oak seafood restaurant on Saturday, Feb. 13. The wine and chocolate pairing features wines selected by house sommelier Chris Brock with chocolates expertly paired by executive chef Norman Fenton.

Featured wines include 2012 Chateau Grand Traverse Cabernet Franc and a 2013 Cycles Gladiator Cab. There are two different seatings, one at 5 p.m. and another at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online for $26.

Whether you're going out on a fishing trip, discovering new hiking spots, or heading out for a weekend of camping, the Trailblazer is an ideal companion for your active lifestyle.

Dearborn Brewing

Whether you’re blissfully in a relationship or happily single, there’s no better way to spend an afternoon than eating chocolate and sipping beer. Head to Dearborn Brewing on Sunday, Feb. 14 for a beer and chocolate tasting starting at 3:30 p.m.!

Attendees will get to sample four different Corden chocolates (made locally in Inkster) paired with four brews, including Dark Sour, Death by Chocolate Porter, IPA and Belgian Wit. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased online.

Canton Brew Works

Don’t miss out on a sugar rush with Canton Brew Works and SugarBaby Cupcakes on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Guests will sample three four-ounce pours of CBW beer, along with three gourmet mini-cupcakes.

One duo to look forward to: Cin Bin, a cinnamon, vanilla and chocolate porter, paired with a Cinnamon Vanilla Stout Coffeecake Cupcake.

The tasting runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and those who buy a $10 ticket to the event receive $1 off pints for the night.

Ale Mary’s Craft Beer Hall

Sometimes February brings mid-winter blues, but Girl Scout Cookie Pairing Week, held Sunday, Feb. 21 through Saturday, Feb. 27, at Ale Mary’s will surely get you out of a funk.

Participants receive four five-ounce beer samples along with eight Girl Scout cookies: Thin Mints with Ballast Point’s Peppermint Victory at Sea, Samoas with Latitude 42’s Island Fever, and the list goes on.

Unfortunately, advance tickets are sold out, but look for tickets possibly available at the door for $20.

Treat yourself to something sweet this month, and while you’re at it, pair it with a beer or wine sample in the D.
