Bailout Productions is back this weekend for their second rendition of the wildly successful pop-up bar phenomenon. In honor of Cinco de Mayo, this event will feature seven different cocktails on draft, all of which will feature Herradura or El Jimador tequila. Cocktails will be available by the glass or pitcher.

Just to give you an idea of what’s in store for partygoers, two examples of the seven cocktail creations include:  the Mazatlan (crafted with blanco tequila, fresh lime, jalapeno syrup, chili oil and sea salt), and Fire & Smoke (a reposado concoction with spiced agave syrup and lime that’s topped off by a sea salt rim).

Travis Fourmont and Joe Robinson, co-founders of Bailout Productions, decided to take the pop-up route in order to express themselves while sharing their passion with the community. Before starting Bailout, Robinson and Fourmont tended bar together for several years at popular Detroit eatery Roast.

At the beginning of his career, Fourmont started out working in the kitchen before transitioning behind the bar, where he quickly excelled. Nowadays, he and Robinson not only collaborate on all cocktails for their pop-ups, but they both regularly compete in cocktail competitions around the country. Earlier this year, Fourmont took first place in the Woodford Reserve Manhattan Experience. So naturally, if there’s one thing this duo knows, it’s how to craft a serious cocktail.

Make every outing a tail-wagging adventure with the Chevy Silverado, offering you the perfect blend of comfort and capability.

Their first pop-up event, Whiskey Rebellion, was hugely successful and focused solely on carbonated cocktails. In case you had the misfortune of being unable to attend, a carbonated cocktail is fizzy, delicious and created in a kegerator.

“We were extremely pleased with the outcome of Whiskey Rebellion and expect Cinco de Mayo to be even better,” Fourmont said.

As for the future of Bailout Productions, craft cocktail followers can expect plenty more to come.

“There are definitely big plans for Bailout Productions! We need to lock down venues before we can disclose solid dates, but I can promise you big things are brewing,” said Fourmont.

In addition to cocktails by Bailout Productions, this weekend’s Cinco de Mayo event will also feature live music, DJs, Mexican beer and an elote stand. Please be sure to dust off your sombrero, as Festive attire is encouraged for the event.

The party will take place this Sunday, May 5 from noon to 10 p.m and is being held at Green Dot Stables, 2200 W. Lafayette Blvd., Detroit, where the duo’s first pop-up was also held. Best of all, there’s no cover charge this time around!

“Our pop-up is at the same location because of our strong relationship with Green Dot,” Fourmont said. “They are great people and they have a strong following in our local community.”
