If you live in Metro Detroit (and if you’re reading this article, I’m betting there’s a 99 percent chance you do), you’re likely familiar with at least one local downtown area. Whether you’re going out for a night on the town or looking for a way to spend a Saturday afternoon with your girlfriends, Metro Detroit’s downtown areas have plenty to offer.
This year, we at “In the D” began a “Downtown Series,” where we picked a particular area and shared with you the best places to eat, drink, shop and explore while you’re there. I don’t know about you, but there are certain downtown cities I’m very familiar with, and others I know (or knew, before investigating) little to nothing about.
If you’ve got a break from work over the next week (or more, if you’re lucky!), now is the time to explore some of the areas of southeast Michigan you may not be so familiar with. Grab a group of friends, your mom or your significant other and head to downtown Milford, Wyandotte, Plymouth, Rochester or Ferndale for an afternoon. Take a peek at each of our handy guides before you do so!
Have a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday break, Metro Detroiters! Which downtown area in southeast Michigan is your favorite? Our “Downtown Series” will continue in 2015, so stay tuned!
