Super Happy Sushi
Having had its official opening on Sept. 28 after several pop-ups, Super Happy Sushi is in full swing inside the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD). Sushi chef Rob Lee presents a menu of appetizers, nigiri, sashimi and traditional rolls. A full bar complements the food offerings with bartenders pouring both classic and house cocktails. Sake, wine, beer and cider is also available.
Sushi Coup
Speaking of new sushi shops, Sushi Coup in Rochester Hills just opened its doors on Sept. 29. Taking the popular west coast “poke bowl” (think sushi roll in a bowl) and bringing it to The Mitten, Sushi Coup blends the make-it-your-way meal-building concept of places like Qdoba and Blaze Pizza with sushi. Served with rice, customers pick their vegetables on which their seafood (tofu, shrimp, California roll crab meat, tuna and salmon) will sit in the poke bowl. Be one of the first of your friends to try a new, healthy way to enjoy sushi.
Bluefin Sushi
Thanks to renovations completed earlier this year, Bluefin Sushi in Grosse Pointe Farms is now able to cater to bigger crowds, bringing sushi goodness to even more people. Outside of the classic sushi roll, vegetarian roll, nigiri and sashimi, Bluefin also carries items like Thai coconut curry, Mongolian beef and even tacos.

Black Pine Tree Sushi Bar & Restaurant brings a plethora of sushi options to the city of Southgate.
