All month long, you’ll be able to attend these events that have one thing in common: making sure you’re never thirsty. So, bottom’s up and have a blast this summer!
Located in Grand Circus Park, Detroit Beer & Wine Fest is your chance to sample more than 100 beers and wines from more than 40 breweries and wineries in Michigan and the rest of the world, too. Some of the breweries and wineries include Axle Brewing Company, Roak Brewing Company, Geyser Peak Winery, Frontera and more. Local blues/folk musician Al Bettis will be performing live at the event.
Ferndale’s resident mead, cider and beer taproom, B. Nektar, will be holding its 9th anniversary Summer Mead Fest on Saturday, August 5. Enjoy limited release meads, ciders and beers, along with live music from Crate Digga, Mega Powers, Yukiko and Chedda Bob. Food trucks from Ruckus Taco Co., Treat Dreams Ferndale, CC Creperie and Lazybones Smokehouse will also be on site.
If you like to draw while enjoying beers and cocktails, check out Drink and Draw at The Skip bar in Detroit. Hosted by Detroit comic shop Vault of Midnight, patrons will have the freedom to draw as they please or take on creative drawing games. Vault of Midnight is also looking for entries for its magazine.

Tour de Fat, a tour of New Belgium’s Fat Tire beer and great music, is coming to Detroit. Enjoy musical performances by Valley Hush, KOLARS and Skylar Grey, as well as circus performers, vaudeville acts and more. Proceeds benefit Slow Roll Detroit.
In an effort to raise funds for Woodhaven/Trenton Shelter and Animal Resource Funding Foundation, both organizations are putting on the first annual Ales for Tails Craft Beer Festival at Civic Center Park in Woodhaven. Enjoy tons of craft beer, music, food, games and raffle baskets to bid on. Following the beer tasting, there will be a private concert in the park by the band Wisteria Rocks.
Located at Witch’s Hat Brewing Company in South Lyon, Fury for a Feast is a celebration of bourbon barrel beer with proceeds benefiting Blessings in a Backpack South Lyon Chapter and Gleaner’s Community Food Bank. Enjoy more than barrel-aged beers, live music, food vendors and a charity raffle.
