There’s always something interesting happening at Eastern Market and next month is no different. From a food truck rally to the Detroit Lions themselves, May is shaping up to be a stellar month for Eastern Market in Detroit. Here are four events to keep in mind when planning your next trip to the Market in May.

All Things Detroit & Food Truck Rally

All Things Detroit from Ask Jennyfer, LLC will be setting up shop in Eastern Market once again, this time with some savory bites to go with all of the local business shopping you’ll be doing here. The day kicks off at 10 a.m. for the early bird crowd and 11 a.m. for general admission.

Taste of the Lions

If you love the Detroit Lions and the metro Detroit culinary scene, you’ll want to find yourself at Taste of the Lions on May 17 at 5 p.m. This is the fifth year in a row the event has taken place and it’s the perfect opportunity to bump elbows with Detroit Lions players, coaches and legends while getting a taste of Detroit-area food, wine and craft beer. There will also be live music and a silent auction.

Motor Signal Reading Series

Hosted at Signal Return and curated by Literary Detroit, Motor Signal Reading Series is a night of live poetry performed by Detroit-local poets. Not only will poets be reading their material, but also involving the audience in order to create something entirely new.

Flower Day

You can’t have a list of things happening at Eastern Market in May without including Flower Day! This annual staple has been the destination for beautiful, healthy flower arrangements. You know where to be the first Sunday after Mother’s Day and what better excuse to make her day all over again with a beautiful arrangement of flowers?
