Football is important on Thanksgiving, and even more so for metro Detroiters since our team always plays one of the headline games. So, how can you make thanksgiving football special, and more than just a group of people eating trail mix, waiting for dinner to be ready? We’ve got four quick football themed snacks recipes that will help get everyone in a festive mood (click on the name of the snack for the full recipe).

Deviled Eggs

Deviled eggs are good for any occasion, but they work especially well for a quick bite during the game. There are plenty of ways to make deviled eggs, so preparation and cook time depends on how many guests you’ll have over and how extravagant you want to get with the appetizer. To add a little football flair to the festivities, you can make little olive strips and put them on top of the eggs to make them look like footballs. Don’t encourage any of your guests to try to throw them, however.

Pigs in a Blanket

Pigs in a Blanket and some pigskin football action go hand in hand. They are the perfect quick snack to feature at any football party with a recipe that should be ready in 30 minutes. The doughy goodness wrapped around a sausage is even better if you have some Michigan maple syrup to dip it in.

Baked Jalapeño Poppers

If you’re looking for a football snack with a little more of a kick, try making some baked jalapeño poppers. It’s easy make as you fill each jalapeno with cream cheese, cheddar, and some bread crumbs and place them in the oven. They’ll be ready in 20 minutes and will be something a little different from what’s typically featured at a football spread.

From transporting food and goods to having enough room for pets and family, owning the right SUV is essential for pet owners. See the available features that make the Chevy Tahoe a pet lover's dream.

Chocolate Pretzels

No football watch party is complete without something a little sweet, and chocolate pretzels will do just the trick. Incredibly easy to make, all you need are pretzels and chocolate candy kisses and bake them in the oven. After you bake them, let them sit in the refrigerator until the chocolate sets, and you’re ready to go. You can even add hard shelled chocolates on top in your favorite team’s colors (we suggest honolulu blue and silver).
