At the start of the year, dining out meant salads loaded with veggies and little else. Now that we’ve adapted our diets to meet normal standards, we can dine out and enjoy an entrée salad topped with a few tasty extras.

When hunger hits and you’d like to stick to the healthy basics, head to one of the following metro Detroit restaurants for a filling entrée salad with big flavors:

Lockhart’s BBQ

With locations in Royal Oak and Lake Orion, keep in mind that the menu varies at both. In Royal Oak, try the BBQ Chicken Chop Salad, Tri-Tip Sirloin Salad and Smoked Turkey Salad. If you’re dining in Lake Orion, opt for the Santa Fe Chicken Salad, Lockhart’s Salmon Salad or Beef and Bleu Salad.

Sweet Lorraine’s

You’ll find this restaurant in Southfield and Livonia, with several tasty salad options. Lorraine’s Special Salad is available at both, and includes organic greens, pears, bleu cheese, hazelnuts and dried cranberries. Additional choices: Grilled Tenderloin Steak Salad and Hot Salmon “Nicoise” Salad.

With best-in-class cargo space, top of the line safety features, and cutting edge technology, the Chevy Suburban is perfect for any family. See the Suburban's available features that can keep up with your family's lifestyle.

Zingerman’s Roadhouse

There’s plenty of variety at this Ann Arbor eatery, including the salad selections. Unique plates include Warm Spinach and Mushroom Salad, Beet and Goat Cheese Salad and CMF Carrot and Scallion Salad.

You’ll find fresh greens on nearly every restaurant menu in southeast Michigan, but here are a few more can’t miss selections: Iron Horse, Royal Oak (try the IHRO Salad), Basement Burger Bar, located in Canton and Farmington (where you can build your own!) and Mex, Bloomfield (go for the Chopped Chicken Salad).

Eating healthy never tasted so good! Enjoy.
