Last month, the Detroit Free Press, in partnership with the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers, released its annual list of the region’s Top 10 best new restaurants. The revamped list honors not only game-changing restaurants but the city’s Best New Cocktail Bars, Best New Pop-Up, and Emerging Chef.
Almost immediately, social media platforms exploded with images of artfully-plated dishes, creative craft cocktails, and overwhelming congratulatory sentiment for the winners. But that list – and the subsequent response – does not mark the end of the yearly celebration. Rather, it ushers in a period of culinary exploration destined to take Detroit diners to new heights.
That’s because, for the next five months, locals will have the opportunity to experience these lauded restaurants and cocktail bars in an entirely new way. Starting April 11, and continuing bi-weekly until its conclusion, each selected establishment will offer a one-night-only, VIP experience to showcase their prowess at the highest level.
When tickets go on sale, Metro Detroiters will race for the chance to partake in an evening of curated dining, libation, and exceptional service from the best restaurants in town. For food lovers, it’s an opportunity to deep-dive into the restaurants that define the city’s current culinary landscape. For the chefs, it’s a moment to flex their creative muscle, design each bite, and ultimately, present their vision in the purest form. Everyone wins.
