Fall Festival Fun!

Despite experiencing some recent warm spurts, Michigan is eventually going to experience the fall season. With the change of the season brings new opportunities to celebrate metro Detroit’s wonderful communities at local festivals and fairs. So while the warmth might be behind us, there’s still plenty to look forward to with these five local fall festivals.

Appleumpkin Festival (10/14-10/15)

Tecumseh will be hosting their annual Appleumpkin Festival starting on Saturday, October 14. The two day festival will feature plenty of activities for the kids including midway rides, carnival games, a kid’s putt putt golf course, and monster truck rides. The adults will have plenty of shopping opportunities at the antique street fair, flea market, and the arts & crafts show. So whether you need to entertain the kids for a few hours or a scarecrow for your front lawn, the Appleumpkin Festival is the place to be.

Cranes, Colors, and Cabernet Festival (10/21)

Wine tasting, hiking, and beautiful views await you at the Cranes, Colors, and Cabernet Festival in Manchester on Saturday, October 21. The event is part of Sandhill Crane Vineyards’ Big 400 fall celebration and will be a journey around the Sharon Hills Preserve. The guided wine tasting hike is the perfect way to experience the beautiful fall weather while trying some of their finest wine options.

9th Annual Detroit Fall Beer Festival (10/27-10/28)

Eastern Market will help you discover your new favorite beer at the 9th Annual Detroit Fall Beer Festival happening on Saturday, October 21. The event will be showcasing more than 700 craft beers and 80 breweries from all over Michigan. ypsiGLOW (10/27)

Downtown Ypsilanti will host one of the biggest Halloween parties around for the second straight year on Friday, October 27. The party will including DJs, street performers, dancing, glowing window displays, black-lit stations, and more. The event is free and Halloween costumes are, of course, encouraged.  

Holiday Bazaar (11/4)

While it might seem a little too early to already be thinking about the holidays, come November it won’t be. That’s why the Rochester Hills Holiday Bazaar can help you get ready for all the chaos starting on Saturday, November 4. The 4th annual marketplace will include over 125 Michigan based artists and vendors that will help you find the perfect gift for everyone on your list.
