This year, Father’s Day falls on Sunday, June 19. While fathers deserve more than just one day of appreciation per year, it is the perfect platform to tell your dad how much he means to you. One of the many ways to do so is to take him out to brunch or dinner.  Listed below are a few establishments celebrating the occasion in a special way.

The Whitney

The Whitney in Midtown offers two great options for Father’s Day. Brunch is from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., with a menu featuring carved Prime Rib and Lamb, as well as Short Ribs. Additionally, The Whitney will host its annual Father’s Day Barbecue, starting at 4 p.m., and featuring live entertainment. Family-Style Salad, Barbecue Grilled Short Ribs and Chicken and more comprise the menu. Both options include a special gift for dad.

Rugby Grille

The Rugby Grille, located inside of the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, will feature its brunch menu until 3 p.m. on Father’s Day. Brunch options include exquisite dishes such as Lobster Omelet, Egg White Frittata, Quiche Du Jour and more. The dinner menu begins at 5 p.m. It may be wise to reserve a table, which can be done online or by calling.

Karl’s Cabin

If you are yet to take a trip to this iconic cabin in Plymouth, Father’s Day is a great opportunity to do so. The restaurant will feature it’s dinner menu all-day long, which features options like Baseball-Cut Sirloin, St. Louie Smoked Ribs, Crab-Stuffed Whitefish and more. Additionally, the chef will have a few specials available for the occasion.

Local Kitchen and Bar

If you’re in the Ferndale area, Local Kitchen and Bar is always a logical choice. The friendly-environment and comfort food are surely reasons to try it. On Father’s Day Local Kitchen and Bar will have its acclaimed brunch menu out beginning at 9 a.m. and available until 3 p.m. Or if you want to do dinner with dad, that menu begins at 5 p.m., with options such as small plates, Sea Bass, New York Strip and more.

Basically, metro Detroit makes taking care of Father’s Day plans simple. Just choose a place, make a reservation and let the restaurants do the work. Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads out there, and mothers pulling double duty.
