Fine Dining
Iridescence is located inside of MotorCity Casino in Detroit. It offers breathtaking views of Detroit’s city skyline. Prices are a little higher here than your normal restaurant, but Iridescence is a highly rated fine dining establishment. The menu serves Black Angus filets, Atlantic salmon via Southwest, South African lobster tail and much more. The wine list is also impressive.
The Whitney, located in the historic David Whitney House in Midtown Detroit, has the best-tasting and most tender filet mignon that I have personally ever eaten. In addition, the dinner menu features Parmesan-crusted sea bass, beef Wellington, twin lobster tails and more. I would also recommend the lobster macaroni & cheese as a sharable side.
Entertainment
Southeast Michigan is full of theaters, comedy shows and concert halls. Here are a few venues for a date night.
Detroit Opera House is located on Broadway Street in Detroit. The venue features operas, ballets/dances, choirs and more. Check here for a list of other upcoming events.
Michigan Theater is a historic, beautiful theater located in Ann Arbor. It often plays classic or throwback films, and sometimes new releases. It occasionally hosts concerts, as well. Check out the schedule for upcoming movies. Don’t forget about the State Theatre, either.
Joey’s Comedy Shop (formerly Joey’s Comedy Club) is one of my personal favorite places to catch a comedy show with my lady. If you and your significant other are looking for a laugh, and a few drinks, then this is the place for the two of you. The Dinner and Show option is perfect for a date night out.
