One of the many great aspects of summertime is outdoor music, but do you know what is even better? When the show is free! A lot of people say that the best things in life are free, and it’s hard to argue with that logic. Take your significant other to a show, bring the whole family or go with a group of friends. Here is where to go to find such events.

Rhythmz in Riley Park

Be sure to head to Farmington for Rhythmz in Riley Park, which takes place on Friday nights throughout the summer under the Sundquist Pavilion. The concerts feature upbeat music such as jazz, folk, acoustic and rock. There is a show this Friday, June 10 at 7 p.m.

In the Park Summer Concerts

The beautiful Shain Park in Birmingham hosts its annual free In the Park Concert series once again this summer. The concerts take place on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m., beginning on June 22 and running until August 24. Acts include blues singer David Gerald, cover band Nemesis, Motown band Mainstreet Soul and many more.

Friday Night Concert Series

Downtown Northville is always a good place to visit, and it certainly is this summer with its Friday Night Concert Series. The music began last Friday, and continues until August 26. Attendees can look forward to hearing the sounds of classic rock, blues, country, funk and more. The events take place in Town Square.

When you have the tools to do it yourself, nothing can stop you from turning your vision into reality. Trailblazer offers advanced storage options for a small SUV that is versatile, powerful, and ready to get the job done

Music on the Lake Concert Series

A good way to spend a Wednesday night would be at Veterans Memorial Park in St. Clair Shores with the Music on the Lake Concert Series. Jill Jack kicks things off tonight with the first performance of the season, but the series continues through August 10. Lake views and live music, what more can you ask for?

Music On The Plaza

Produced by the Grosse Pointe Village Downtown Development, the 2016 Music On the Plaza Series features events on Thursday nights from June 9 through August 4. The concerts are performed at the Village Festival Plaza. Many jazz acts, such as Metro Jazz Voices, Trio Jazz with Robert Pipho and the Alvin Waddles Trio are set to perform.

There are many opportunities for free summer concerts in the outdoors in the next few months, including the Chevrolet Rockin’ on the Riverfront Concert Series. If you’re looking for more on outdoor concerts this summer, but are interested in big name acts, we have a story on that as well.
