One of the many great aspects of summertime is outdoor music, but do you know what is even better? When the show is free! A lot of people say that the best things in life are free, and it’s hard to argue with that logic. Take your significant other to a show, bring the whole family or go with a group of friends. Here is where to go to find such events.
Be sure to head to Farmington for Rhythmz in Riley Park, which takes place on Friday nights throughout the summer under the Sundquist Pavilion. The concerts feature upbeat music such as jazz, folk, acoustic and rock. There is a show this Friday, June 10 at 7 p.m.

A good way to spend a Wednesday night would be at Veterans Memorial Park in St. Clair Shores with the Music on the Lake Concert Series. Produced by the Grosse Pointe Village Downtown Development, the 2016 Music On the Plaza Series features events on Thursday nights from June 9 through August 4. The concerts are performed at the Village Festival Plaza. Many jazz acts, such as Metro Jazz Voices, Trio Jazz with Robert Pipho and the Alvin Waddles Trio are set to perform.
