Spicy. Tangy. Mild. BBQ. Hot. No matter how you like your wings, metro Detroit has plenty of restaurants and bars that will keep your taste buds flying high. We’ve compiled a list of local wing spots and their best flavors so your next wing night out is smokin’ hot (or mild if that’s your thing).

Spicy: City Wings Inc.

Whether you’re looking to feed yourself or provide food for a large group, City Wings Inc. in Detroit has all of your chicken wing needs. Flavors range from Mild to Spicy Mango Ginger, but the best part is that all of the flavors can be made spicy. So if you’re looking for a barbecue flavor with a spicy kick, they can do that for you. Added bonus: the restaurant delivers in the immediate Detroit area so you never have to leave the house to indulge in chicken wing goodness.

Tangy: Detroit Wing Co

With every flavor ranging from Butter Cheese to Calypso Heat, Detroit Wing Co can satisfy just about everyone’s wing needs with one of their 16 homemade sauces. We’ll choose to highlight the restaurant’s Carolina Gold BBQ sauce which offers a different type of wing experience with its sweet and tangy BBQ taste.

Mild: Mr. Spots

Widely considered (and frequently voted) the best wings in Ann Arbor, Mr. Spots doesn’t offer a ton of sauce choices, but the ones that they do are delicious. Most of their sauces are on the mild side with sauces like Garlic Parmesan and BBQ, but their Original Hot Sauce and Suicide Sauce offer more of a kick. It’s a delicious spot for those looking for a more mild wing experience.

BBQ: Your Mothers Food & Spirits

Mount Clemens’ Your Mothers Food & Spirits is in the style of a classic bar with some delicious homemade wings. The wings are seasoned, hand breaded, then fried before a sauce of your choosing is added. There’s three categories of sauces: signature, hot, and BBQ. If you go the BBQ route, try the ginger BBQ sauce for a unique taste.

Hot: Wings N Things

If you’re looking for wings and, um, things then why not head to Wings N Things in Dexter? Their menu features delicious philly cheesesteaks, burgers, pizzas, and of course, chicken wings. Their chicken wings range from mild BBQ to the aptly-named Hot-Suicide. Get yourself a few sides of ranch or bleu cheese with that last one. You’re gonna need it.
