If there’s one thing the Motor City knows about, it’s cars. And here in the city of Detroit, we sure like celebrating them.

The 20th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise will take place on Saturday, August 16 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Throughout the day, a million plus visitors will take in over 40,000 custom cars, muscle cars and collector vehicles along Woodward Avenue.

The Dream Cruise, presented by its main sponsor, Chevrolet, is a huge event for the Detroit community, and one that winds through eight different cities! The communities of Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Pontiac and Royal Oak are all hosting various events on Saturday in order to celebrate.

One of the most happenin’ events, of course, is your very own Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers 4th Annual Dream Cruise Party! Held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the event will take place at Memorial Park, located at 13 Mile and Woodward in Royal Oak, and will feature over 200 classic Chevy vehicles on display for your viewing pleasure.

Adventure starts with a vehicle that’s up for anything. Trailblazer combines comfort you want, the versatility you need, and the technology to make every moment count.

If you’re looking for a Dream Cruise event to attend on Saturday, consider one of the following:

Chevrolet will be set up at Royal Oak’s Normandy Park on Saturday, and at The Woodward Triangle in Birmingham from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the Dream Cruise. The latter will feature a lineup of brand spankin’ new Chevy vehicles, including the new 2015 Colorado pickup truck and a six-speed manual transmission 2015 SS performance sedan.

Also included in Chevrolet’s display will be the machine-like stars of Michael Bay’s “Transformers: Age of Extinction” and classic cars like a 1929 Landau and a 1971 Cheyenne. You might even have an opportunity to test out Chevy’s latest and greatest technology: OnStar with 4GLTE.

Grab the family and head to Ferndale’s West Nine Mile Road for a food court and kid’s play zone from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Next door to Ferndale is Pleasant Ridge, where Chevrolet will sponsor the Camaro Corral. The event begins at 7 a.m. at City Hall, where Camaro Club members will show off 150 different Camaros on display.

The city of Pontiac will hold the Oakland Press Classic Car Show from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and there will be plenty of live entertainment throughout the day.

WOMC 104.3, Detroit’s Greatest Hits radio station, will broadcast live all day along the Woodward Dream Cruise route, from Pontiac to Royal Oak, so you can remain in the know no matter where you are on Saturday.

If you yourself are driving the Dream Cruise, keep your eyes peeled for the Chevrolet Certified Service Rescue Squad, a team of ASE-certified technicians in six Chevy Silverados that drive the route in case any of you classic cruisers run out of gas or overheat your engines. These superheroes are supported by your very own Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers! You’ll also be able to get help at two different Chevrolet Certified Service stations, located at Fifth Third Bank and The Vitamin Shoppe in Royal Oak.

With all of this car related fun happening throughout the day, there is no doubt you’re going to find yourself famished at some point. If you’re looking for somewhere to chow down, try Dino’s, 22740 Woodward Ave., Ferndale, as the restaurant is featuring a special menu full of Dream Cruise Pit Stop menu items exclusively throughout the month of August.

Something you might find enticing? The “DADDY-OH!,” a two-tier burger with two quarter pound patties, pickles, shredded lettuce and Thousand Island dressing. Oh, there also happens to be a grilled cheese sandwich stuck in the middle of it, and it’s topped with a fried onion ring. If that seems a little extreme (what, are you conscious of your health or something?), try the “Skid Mark” Sliders, which includes four sliders topped with cheddar cheese, chili, onions and spicy mayo.

The Woodward Dream Cruise is a can’t miss event, so be there or be square!
