We’ve officially made it, folks. The long, cold, snow-filled winter months are a thing of the past, and we have nothing but warm air and sunshine to look forward to. Why not enjoy the season and treat yourself? Frozen yogurt is the perfect warm weather snack, and can be a healthy alternative to ice cream. Check out one (or all) of the following year-round shops in Metro Detroit:

Yogurt Palooza in Downtown Plymouth serves up to 14 flavors at a time as they rotate through their stock of over 75 total flavors. The expansive list includes Cake Batter, Dulce de Leche, Red Velvet Cake and Cheesecake, to name a few. You can then top your mound of yogurt with everything from Fruity Pebbles to Oreos to fresh fruit and hot fudge.

Regular flavors at Bloomberry in Royal Oak and Rochester include the likes of chocolate, vanilla and Mango Sorbet, with specialty flavors such as Espresso, Pumpkin Pie and Rocky Road. Additionally, you can fill your cup with yogurt and toppings and have it blended into a DIY smoothie. Bloomberry’s yogurt is gluten free and contains 29 calories an ounce, so enjoy it guilt free!

There are several Swirlberry locations in the Metro Detroit area, including Livonia and Ann Arbor. The smooth, creamy yogurt comes in flavors like Cinnamon, Blueberry Tart and Peanut Butter, and you can top your creation with star fruit, granola, gummy bears, Cap’n Crunch and other tasty morsels.

Explore Metro Detroit in a vehicle built for discovery. Chevy Equinox combines sleek looks, maximum comfort and cutting edge entertainment to navigate your city in style.

Sweet Earth Frozen Yogurt, with locations in Royal Oak and Birmingham, has unique flavor choices, namely the swirled options like Birthday Cake & Red Velvet Cupcake, Tiramisu & Cinnamon and Espresso & White Chocolate. Best yet, the shop is eco-friendly—it uses organic ingredients and the treats are served in biodegradable cups.

If you prefer your frozen yogurt in its purest form without a jumble of toppings, head to Stucchi’s Ice Cream in Ann Arbor. There, you can take your pick of over 20 different flavors, including Cinnamon Crumb Cake, Mocha Chip, Apple Crisp and more.

A tip, from writer to reader: if you’ve never been to a self-serve frozen yogurt shop before, be forewarned—most places price by weight, so keep that in mind while filling up your cup!
