The Metro Detroit taco scene is a sight to see. Over the years, menus have expanded, offering a variety ranging from the traditional Mexican style to signature creations, implementing an American spin on tacos. Now, Metro Detroiters can experience all shapes, sizes, tortillas, sauces, meats, cheeses, vegetables, and more. This affordable and delicious delicacy isn’t hard to find, with the many restaurants and food trucks offering it. Read on for a few ideas for your next taco Tuesday. 

Carnival Market

Not only is Carnival Market the “largest Hispanic store in Oakland County,” but it’s also known to have some of the best tacos in Michigan. Even though it sits in Pontiac, people travel from all over to find tacos and or grocery items that they can’t find anywhere else. The expansive menu offers a long list of meat options for tacos or other meals like quesadillas, burritos, salads, and nachos.

El Charro 

El Charro is best known for the innovative puffy taco that originates here. Guests can choose to load the deep-fried corn tortilla with chicken, beef, beans, or fish, or enjoy a mixture, topped with cheese and vegetables. El Charro is located throughout Fraser, Macomb Township, and St. Claire Shores with slight variations to the menu at each location.
