We are in the middle of February here in the metropolitan Detroit area, and it is still awfully cold outside. That can pose a problem for avid golfers, and plenty of Michigan residents love to swing their clubs. Fortunately, there are indoor driving ranges and golf simulators to keep your golf games (and bodies) warm.

Evolution Sportsplex

This Auburn Hills sports complex offers a 115-yard long indoor driving range with a skylight. The facility offers brand new tees, golf balls, hitting mats, yardage markers and more! Both group and individual lessons are available, and the facility even includes a video swing analysis tool. The indoor range is open Monday through Friday each week.

Royal Oak Golf Center

The Royal Oak Golf Center sports a driving range complete with 10 covered tees that are heated during these harsh winter months (and cooled in the summer). These covered tees are open all year round and are perfect to keep your golf skills up to par (see what I did there?) in the winter. The range also features 65 open air tees for warmer temperatures.

Indoor Golf Club of Michigan

The Indoor Golf Club of Michigan, located in Fraser, features many ways to practice golf in an indoor environment. The driving range allows you to tee it up and work on your driving skills, while the chipping area focuses on chip shots from the sport turf onto the putting green. And last, but not least, the putting green will keep your short game strong. Don’t forget about the simulators!

When you have the tools to do it yourself, nothing can stop you from turning your vision into reality. Trailblazer offers advanced storage options for a small SUV that is versatile, powerful, and ready to get the job done

Liberty Park of America

Sterling Heights’ Liberty Park of America is a multi-sport facility that just so happens to have an indoor driving range. Patrons can purchase a large bucket of balls for $9 or a small bucket for $7.50, with senior discounts available. The range is open Monday through Friday, but hurry, it closes for the season on April 8!

In addition, Play Golf 365 in West Bloomfield and The Drive-In in Clawson both have golf simulators, which allow for a “Driving Range” mode.

Simply put, there are several options to sharpen up your golf game during the wintertime. Check out one of these places and impress your friends and competitors during outdoor golf season!
