Spring is here! Stop and smell the flowers! No really, stop and smell the flowers. We’ve waited long enough and now it’s planting season. The birds are humming, the bees are buzzing, and now it’s time for you to plant and set out your favorite plants. Fun fact about gardening, it’s a stress reliever! I think all could use some relief from the winter blues we experienced in Michigan this past winter. So grab your planting soil, gardening gloves and pick up some of your favorite plants at these upcoming “budding” events!
Just in time for Mother’s Day is the annual flower and garden sale. The Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce has kept this event going for 25 years. Not only can visitors purchase flowers but they can also get landscaping items, and decorative elements for their lawns.
Visit Ann Arbor, meet the farmers and actually walk the farm. Visitors are able to interact with the animals while shopping for not just flowers but vegetables too. All of the food is certified organic and fresh veggies are available all year around. The volunteers of the Henry Ford Estate have been hosting the plant and garden sale for 30 plus year. Some of the plants for sale this year include unique perennials, wildflowers, heirlooms, pollinator-attracting and shade-loving plants, culinary herbs, annuals and water garden plants.
