With Easter this weekend, it got us thinking about all of the delicious items that will grace our plates on Sunday. Some of the most noteworthy will come in dessert form, and with today being National Pecan Day, we really can’t think of any better nut to have be the star of the show on the dessert table. Here are some exceptional pecan goodies from local bakeries that would make great additions to any Easter breakfast, brunch, or dinner.

Pecan Brioche Sticky Buns

Avalon International Breads in downtown Detroit features plenty of scrumptious dessert choices, including many featuring pecans. Their brioche sticky buns are a favorite as they feature cinnamon butter, brown sugar, and of course, pecans. Other pecan desserts available include pecan chocolate chunk cookies and pecan brown butter blondies.

Pecan Wheat Scone

Breadsmith in Grosse Pointe has plenty of pecan bread options including apple cinnamon pecan, honey raisin pecan, and pecan sourdough whole grain. But, their pecan wheat scones would make for a great Easter Sunday brunch.

Traditional Pecan Pie

You can’t have a pecan article without mentioning a delicious pecan pie. There are plenty of great bakeries in metro Detroit that make a great pecan pie, but this Easter you’re going to want to pick your pie from Hermann’s Bakery in Royal Oak. Since opening in 1902, the bakery has featured dozens of pies and desserts to choose from, including their nutty pecan pie.
