Happening all weekend long, the 39th Annual Detroit Jazz Festival is jam-packed with performances from some of the greatest jazz musicians around. Witness performances from the likes of Alex Harding & Organ Nation, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Chris Dave and the Drumhedz, Christian Sands Trio, the Detroit Latino Jazz Project and more. You’ll even have the opportunity to speak with the artists about their craft at the Jazz Talk Tent.

This is the 87th year of the festival and it runs all weekend. If driving all the way up to Mackinac City to join the Mackinac Bridge Labor Day Walk isn’t in your plans, consider the South Lyon Labor Day Bridge Walk. This localized walk will happen on Labor Day in McHattie Park in South Lyon. It’s a free event put on to promote physical fitness and living an active life.
