You just woke up. You have just under an hour to get ready for work and arrive on time. If you’re lucky, you might have time to eat something for breakfast. Consider this your lucky day. If you’re looking for a place to grab a bite to eat on your way to work in metro Detroit, these places below might just fit the bill.

The Breakfast Club

We’ve written about The Breakfast Club in the past, but one thing we forgot to mention is that its Commerce location offers drive-thru pick-up. That means you can call in your order ahead of time and then go straight to the drive-thru to pick it up, saving you time on your way into work. With a menu as delicious as The Breakfast Club’s, you should definitely make a point of stopping by if you work in the Commerce area.

Dutch Girl Donuts

2017 marks Dutch Girl Donuts’ 70th year in business, making delicious donuts for Detroiters six days a week. While donuts may not fall in line with your new year’s resolution to shed a few pounds, Dutch Girl Donuts may be the place to be on your next cheat day. I mean, can you really say no to a fresh glazed donut?

Kuzzo’s Chicken & Waffles

If you’re looking for something a little…meatier and you have the time to sit down and enjoy it, Kuzzo’s on Livernois in Detroit will leave you stuffed (and hopefully not in a food coma). The titular southern delight is an obvious attraction to this breakfast joint but Kuzzo’s also offers omelets, sandwiches and more to kickstart anyone’s day. Just make sure it isn’t Monday, the only day Kuzzo’s is closed.

The Chevy Trax is the perfect partner for finding balance and exploring wherever your day leads.

Urban Bean Co.

If you’re downtown, Urban Bean Co. has your back. Not only do they partner with local food and beverage companies, like the aforementioned Dutch Girl Donuts, but the best part is that they deliver! That is, so long as you are “anywhere inside the boulevard. If you don’t know what that means, you are probably not in Detroit.” In addition to several caffeinated beverage options, there are also combos. you can order, like “The 313” (small drip coffee and a Dutch Girl Donut) or “The EFM” (small early grey tea, fruit and a muffin).

Atomic Coffee

If you work in the Royal Oak area, Atomic Coffee is a great spot for a pick-me-up, and I’m not just talking about coffee. You’ll also find plenty of breakfast options to go with your java, like egg muffins, sausage biscuits, hashbrowns, waffles, oatmeal, quiche and more.
