It’s hard to deny how good steak is, especially with all of the different ways it can be prepared. You can always order a good, hearty cut with a baked potato on the side, but there are so many other delicious ways to get your steak fix. We have compiled a meaty list of steak dishes and where to find them in the D, so grab your fork and knife and get ready to dig in!
Steak Salad
If you’re looking to get a nice helping of greens with your beef, a steak salad is a solid choice. Several restaurants offer their own variation on the steak salad, but the Main Street Steak Salad at Fiamma Grille in Plymouth is what you should have your eye on today. A bed of mixed greens is topped with crumbled gorgonzola, pine nuts, bacon, crispy red onions and cracked black peppercorn ranch, then finished off with a grilled, sliced New York Strip.
Steak and Eggs
If you want to get your steak fix in the morning, you really can’t go wrong with steak and eggs. The Fly Trap is always good for a satisfying breakfast or brunch with plenty of exotic breakfast options. Their Cowboy Curtis features two eggs fried easy, wild west sauce and seared flank steak.

There are few better combinations than seafood and steak, and, luckily, there are plenty of Detroit-area restaurants that offer up some of the best. Clawson Steakhouse might have just what you are looking for with their Manhattan Scallops and Steak dinner. This steakhouse original consists of a char grilled 12 oz. New York strip with pan seared sea scallops over wilted spinach and served with a Manhattan sauce.
Steak Alambres
If you’re not familiar with Steak Alambres, it’s time to change that. This tasty dish from El Asador in Detroit is a mexican style kabob served over white rice, accompanied with a side of borracho bean stew. Steak + Mexican for the win.
Steak Stir Fry
Looking to stir things up? Steak stir fry adds flavor and zest to your typical steak meal. Many Mongolian grills offer steak stir fry, but you can also find an equally good take on the dish at Sam’s Ferndale Grill. The grill also offers plenty of other options like their hamburger steak, baked salisbury steak and Delmonico steak.
