It’s no secret that Metro Detroiters are fans of food. While I’m not particularly fond of the term “foodie,” it serves to describe many of the area’s residents—those who love food and the overall dining experience. Thus, many cities in the area are dedicating entire weeks to honor the best restaurants they have to offer.

Most local restaurant weeks happen twice a year: once during the spring and once during the fall. It’s officially time for autumn restaurant week season, so get ready to dig in!

Detroit Restaurant Week is going on now through Sunday, September 29. During this time, diners can enjoy a three-course meal for $30 at several local restaurants.

This year’s participating restaurants include: 24Grille, Andiamo Detroit Riverfront, Angelina Italian Bistro, Brizola, Cliff Bell’s. Coach Insignia, Cuisine, Da Edorado Foxtown Grille, Detroit Seafood Market, Fountain Bistro, Guns + Butter, Jefferson House, La Dolce Vita, Rattlesnake Club, Roast, Roma Café, Santorini Estiatorio, and Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina.

Adventure starts with a vehicle that’s up for anything. Trailblazer combines comfort you want, the versatility you need, and the technology to make every moment count.

The fun doesn’t stop once the meal is over, either. After dinner events (like concerts and shows) will be held each night, courtesy of Metro Times.

The first ever Hamtramck Food Week will start today and go through Saturday, September 28. The idea behind the event is to celebrate the city’s vast diversity through different cuisine. In order to accomplish this, participating restaurants will create a $10 dish to offer throughout the week.

Hamtramck Food Week is a little more “hands-on” than most others. There will be live demonstrations and food production tours to give patrons an inside view as to how their food is prepared. There will also be a food trivia event and a Top Chef: Hamtramck competition!

Plymouth Restaurant Week runs this Friday, September 27 through Saturday, October 5. Participating restaurants will offer meals at three price points: $15, $25 or $35 per plate.

This year’s contributing restaurants include: Compari’s, E.G. Nick’s, Fiamma Grille, Ironwood Grill, Nico & Vali, Panache, Penn Grill and Bar, The Sardine Room, Sean O’Callaghan’s, and Zin Wine Bar and Restaurant.

Reservations are not required, but they are recommended if you want to get a table in a timely manner!

The inaugural Ferndale Restaurant Week will begin on Monday, October 7 and run through Sunday, October 13. Participating restaurants will offer $10, $20 or $30 plates for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Those eateries include: Anita’s Kitchen, Assaggi Bistro, The Blue Nile, The Bosco, Buffalo Wild Wings, Como’s, Dino’s Lounge, Easy Like Sundae, The Emory, Fly Trap, Howe’s Bayou, Imperial, Inyo Restaurant & Lounge, John D Bistro, Local Kitchen & Bar, MiChigo Pizza, Om Café, One Eyed Betty’s, Public House, Rosie O’Grady’s, Sakana Sushi Lounge, Toast, Treat Dreams, and Woodward Avenue Brewers.

Ferndale’s restaurant week also features a competition for local artists, in which entrants submit a piece to The ArtPart contest. Selected artists’ work will be displayed at one of the participating restaurants throughout Restaurant Week. Photographs of all of the pieces will be compiled and, after a Facebook vote, the winning artist will walk away with $10,000.

Even if you normally don’t dine out, now is the time to take advantage of the area’s best cuisine. What could be better than delicious dishes at discounted prices? An entire week of them, of course.
