The Meridian Winter Blast returns to downtown Detroit for more winter fun starting this weekend. This year’s festivities include ice skating at Campus Martius, professional ice skating demonstrations, an ice bar, over 50 entertainment acts, local favorite restaurants, and more.

There’s plenty of activities to do outside at the festival, including taking a slide down the 30-foot high redesigned Meridian Winter Slide or riding the Zip Line Adventure over Campus Martius Park. This year will also feature the Bedrock Ice Maze where guests can enter the 30-foot by 40-foot interactive ice maze on Woodward Avenue.

If you’re looking for something more relaxing to do you can also skate leisurely around the ice rink or take a stroll through the ice garden filled with amazing ice sculptures. There will also be professional ice skating demonstrations taking place all throughout the weekend and hockey shot competitions with prizes.

The weather outside might get a little frightful, but luckily there are still things to do inside at the Detroit Winter Blast. The Michigan Lottery Stage will be featuring some of the best local talent in the area throughout the weekend. There will also be a new acoustic stage at night for those looking for a calmer concert experience.

This is how you Traverse Michigan. With cutting edge technology, tons of cargo space, and advanced safety features, Chevy Traverse is your key to unlocking the mitten state.

Along with all of the great musical acts, you can also warm up by visiting the family tent. There will be catered for kids programs and activities inside the tent, along with the new Detroit Interactive Sports Zone just outside the tent. Guests will be able to interact with current and former Detroit Red Wings and Pistons players while also trying their luck at different skilled games like the Top Shot Electronic Hockey Net or Bubble Hockey.

After doing all of those fun activities you might need to warm up with some great food. Lucky for you there will be plenty of options at this year’s Winter Blast. The food truck rally is a great way to try the best cuisine Detroit has to offer, so be sure to check who will be there.

Along with all of the restaurants participating, the festival will also feature a brand new Bedrock Ice Bar in Cadillac Square. The bar will be completely made of ice and also feature music from local DJs.

For those not old enough to go to the ice bar, there will also be a marshmallow roasting station located near Hard Rock Cafe on Woodward Circle. Marshmallow and S’more kits will be available for purchase for all of your marshmallow roasting needs.

There are more things to do than ever at this year’s Meridian Winter Blast in downtown Detroit. Be sure to plan ahead and dress appropriately for the occasion to make sure you take advantage of this cool event!
