How do you show your love for mom? Is it a regular phone call just to say hi and chit-chat? Is it a gift for no special occasion? However, you say “I love you,” Mother’s Day is a day to show how much you care. So, treat mom to something fun in Metro Detroit at one of these great events this Mother’s Day.
An event to honor “any special women in your life,” Queens Uplift Queens: Mother’s Day Celebration welcomes all women, whether they have children or not, to a day of fashion, poetry, dance, mystery and food. While the event is meant to honor the women in our lives, men are welcome to attend, as well.
With a focus on a diversity of cultures among women, International Women’s Tea will be hosting a Mother’s Day Event & Fashion Show on Saturday, May 12. IWT brings women together from a wide array of backgrounds and cultures to network with one another. The Mother’s Day event follows that spirit. Prospective vendors are encouraged to sign up for a table at the event to promote their business or organization. Event Excellence and He Said, She Said Productions is hosting a Movie with Mom screening of Breaking In this Sunday at Emagine in Royal Oak. Movie tickets include a small popcorn and small drink. An optional gift bag for mom is also available and contains flowers and a photo for mom. Breaking In tells the story of a woman trying to get her kidnapped children back from a location with impenetrable security. Built for those who build. The Chevy Silverado's strength and versatility make it the perfect partner for all your home improvement projects. Enjoy a day of shopping from local vendors and music from Detroit jazz vocalist Sky Covington at Tangent Gallery & Hastings this Mother’s Day. There will also be a fashion show, artists drawing portraits, a massage therapist and more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to pay tribute to their mother through a performance of their choice (song, poem, speech, etc.). It wouldn’t be Mother’s Day without a few mimosas, right? Michigan by the Bottle is holding several seatings at multiple locations for Macarons & Mimosas. Attendees will receive a flight of three macarons from Love & Buttercream, a mimosa “Big Pour” and a $2 credit toward take-home wine purchases that day. Both Shelby Township seatings have sold out. Royal Oak and Auburn Hills seatings are still available. Movie with Mom
