Music and the summer season go together like peaches and cream, burgers and beer, wine and cheese…anyone else hungry?
If you’re a fan of music festivals, warm weather and good times, metro Detroit is a great place to be this summer. Whether you’re into metal, alternative rock, pop, rap or something else, there’s a festival for you in southeast Michigan.
Styx, Uncle Kracker, Seether and Critical Bill stack this lineup for a four-day festival of music, fireworks and more at Freedom Hill County Park in Sterling Heights on June 30-July 3. Other attractions include a petting zoo, pig racing, a classic K9 dog show and a carnival all weekend long. The festival will go out with a bang (or 20!) with a fireworks show planned for Sunday, July 3. The best part about this festival? It’s free!
Mo Pop Festival is a two-day music festival on West Riverfront Park in Detroit. But, really, it’s more than just a music festival. While the lineup includes the likes of G-Eazy, M83 and Twin Peaks, attendees can also enjoy some of the tastiest food truck eats from Detroit via the Food Truck Rally Alley. The Craft Bazaar is where you’ll need to be to check out some of the coolest craft art and handmade goods from Detroit-local artists. At Mo Pop, you can find the beer lovers at the Riverside Biergarten, getting a taste of the many locally-brewed craft beers that make Michigan The Great Beer State. Finally, Mo Tech packs a high-tech punch with the latest technology being crafted right in Detroit.
