When there’s a special occasion, it’s date night or you’ve simply got a hungry tummy, head out to one of Metro Detroit’s newest restaurants for an excellent meal. This fall, there are plenty of offerings to appeal to all tastes:

La Dulce of Royal Oak is an authentic Spanish tapas restaurant. Open now, everything is unique, from the décor to the menu. Shared plates like cured meats, fresh seafood and authentic Spanish dishes fill the menu.

“We utilize a mixture of imported ingredients and Michigan produce and animals to create a vibrant menu with new flavors for the local palate,” Ian Redmond, general manager of La Dulce, said. “Our culinary team has cooked all over the world and brings a wide variety of experience to the area.”

The drink menu includes craft cocktails, house made tonics, bitters and shrubs.

The Silverado is the truck that works as hard as you do.

“We also have a mostly Spanish wine list and an extensive list of sherries that pair perfectly with the food,” Redmond said.

Try the Churros Salados (with cheese, spicy tomato and artichoke) or Pintxo de Rib Eye (with green and red mojo).

Woodpile BBQ Shack, coming soon to Clawson, is every barbecue lover’s dream. Brought to you by Scott Moloney of Treat Dreams and partner Zac Idzikowski, there’s plenty of comfort food to be found.

Meats are smoked daily and include Carolina chopped pork, burnt ends, brisket and more:

“We’ll be offering a Texas-style beef brisket sliced to order and a signature jalapeno Cheddar sausage, as well as other barbecue standbys like pulled pork and ribs,” Kelly Idzikowski, catering and events manager of Woodpile BBQ Shack, said.

What’s interesting about Woodpile: meats are smoked fresh daily, so when they run out, they’re out for the day.

“Woodpile BBQ Shack is a laid-back carryout barbecue joint with the best smoked meats in the area, complimented by delicious handmade ice cream,” Idzikowski said, noting that the restaurant will receive exclusive Treat Dreams flavors like Bourbon Peach.

The restaurant is expected to open by late October or early November.

Also new and coming soon: Mabel Gray of Hazel Park, Old Detroit Burger Bar of Farmington Hills, Vertical DetroitThe Whiskey Six in Grosse Pointe, The Huron Room in Detroit, Standby and The Skip of Detroit and Belle Isle Pizza of Detroit.
