If you’re someone with some spa experience, you’ve probably tried the basics: facial exfoliation, manicures, pedicures, etc. But, what about a milk & honey body rub or a full-body treatment that uses seawater minerals? Spa Mariana
Located in Birmingham, Spa Mariana offers a treatment known as the milk/honey moisturizing body melt. Using a combination of milk proteins and acids and honey, the professionals at Spa Mariana will wrap your body in their proprietary body mask. The treatment takes 50 minutes to complete, but the feeling of a fully-hydrated body will last for days.
Immerse Spa
The premiere spa center of MGM Grand in Detroit, Immerse Spa is a full-service spa with tons of treatments ranging from massage therapy to full body rituals. Two of those rituals are fairly unique and both will make you look and feel like royalty. The “Golden Glow” and “Golden Luster” packages use golden peptides to exfoliate the skin and remove dead skin cells. This is followed by a body wrap that will detoxify and hydrate your skin. Both rituals end with a coating of golden shimmer powder, but with the Golden Luster package, you will also receive a full-body massage.
Tantra Spa
This Ferndale-based spa offers a facial treatment known as “Green Science Skin Renewing Treatment.” Using Aveda’s Green Science skin care, this treatment uses plants that are applied to the face and subsequently peeled off. The result is skin that feels smoother and looks noticeably younger. There are 30-minute, 50-minute and 70-minute options for this treatment. All three include a foot massage while the 70-minute treatment also includes steam, extractions and a hand massage.
Gjeto’s Salon & Day Spa
Gjeto’s Salon & Day Spa in Novi offers a 75-minute “aroma-ocean body wrap” that is designed to rehydrate your body. The treatment begins with a complete body exfoliation, which is followed by the main component: a body wrap using warm, aromatic body gel. This body gel uses minerals from seawater and oils from lavender, ylang-ylang, sandalwood, basil and sage.
Agio Spa
Located in Plymouth, Agio Spa offers a body treatment that is quite tasty. The “Glow and Go!” treatment begins with a full-body exfoliation, followed by rehydration using flavored body butter. Choose from six flavors: pink grapefruit, pomegranate & acai, lemon & sage, mango & tangerine, lavender & rosemary or peppermint & eucalyptus.
