As Michiganders, we’re lucky to experience all four seasons. Each season brings a new opportunity to capture nature’s beauty and southeast Michigan has plenty of places to do just that. In fact, you can make it a road trip and see all of these gorgeous sights. So grab a couple of friends, your best camera gear and get ready to see all of these scenic photography opportunities.

Belle Isle Park

We’ll start our road trip at one of the most beautiful spots in Detroit, Belle Isle Park. With numerous places to take pictures no matter the season, Belle Isle Park shines in the fall with all of its nature and trees. With the color of the leaves and the city skyline within a shot, it’s the perfect place to blend nature and metropolitan together.

Dodge Park

Next stop on our list is a place where you can do it all and capture a wide array of images, Dodge Park in Sterling Heights. You can get some pictures near the water or travel a little further into the woods on the nature trail for some beautiful colors. Either way will turn out great fall images.

Cranbrook Gardens

After you spend some time near the water at Dodge Park, you should head west to see 40 acres of gorgeous flowers, streams, and fountains at Cranbrook Gardens. The garden is offering free admission daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October 31, so you have a couple weeks left to capture some memorable fall pictures.

The Silverado is the truck that works as hard as you do.

Quarton Lake

A short drive away from Cranbrook Gardens, Quarton Lake on the west side of Birmingham is a great place to visit during the summer, but it offers truly beautiful pictures in the fall. With the changing of the leaves reflecting off the peaceful lake water, you are bound to snag a couple of great pictures.

Rochester Municipal Park

Ending the fall’s picture perfect road trip is Rochester’s Municipal Park. The popular park has plenty of trees to see all of the color changes and there’s a peaceful pond with a fountain to add more beauty. Recommended spot: the bridge crossing over Paint Creek, it’s perfect for couple or engagement photos.

Whether you decide to make it a road trip and hit all of these beautiful spots, or maybe just stop at one or two, metro Detroiters sure are lucky for having so many picture perfect fall spots.
