No weekend is ever complete without brunch, and there’s no better place for brunch than Ferndale. On Saturday, Nov. 21, The Rust Belt Market will host Out to Brunch, a brunch extravaganza featuring food from some of the best restaurants around the city, along with cocktails including a Bloody Mary bar, beer, mimosas and more.
The event, presented by the Metro Times, will serve as a strolling sampling of everyone’s favorite local brunch experiences.
“What we’ve done is select some establishments from all over Metro Detroit that have a great reputation for having fantastic brunch offerings,” Adam O’Connor, event coordinator for the Metro Times, said.
Participating eateries include Atwater Brewery, The Root Restaurant & Bar, Bobcat Bonnie’s, Parks & Rec Diner, Republica, Rock City Eatery, Toast and Zeke’s Rock ‘n’ Roll BBQ.

“I would expect to see a few variations on chicken and waffles, and there will likely be some great and creative pork belly offshoots. Expect some more lunch-ish offerings as well,” O’Connor said, noting that there will definitely be a few curveballs thrown into the mix for those who are looking for something outside of the typical brunch staples.
The Rust Belt Market, which is typically open Fridays through Sundays, is a venue used for supporting local businesses, and Out to Brunch will follow that same theme.
“It’ll be a cool conglomeration of restaurants in one common place, where people can get together, be social in a larger group and grab some cocktails to go with their favorite brunch foods,” O’Connor said.
Tickets for Out to Brunch can be purchased online, and cost $40 for general admission or $60 for VIP. VIP tickets grant admission into The Rust Belt an hour early, and will allow ticketholders to snag a few exclusive items that will not be available once general admission begins.
Out to Brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
