Painting is a fun pastime, but add a glass of wine along with the brush and you’ve got yourself a great date night, girls’ night out or fun afternoon with mom. You may be familiar with the “paint and wine” concept, and there are plenty of studios in southeast Michigan that provide art instruction while you sip.

Grab a brush, a glass of chardonnay and get ready to paint!

Painting Sensations

Located in Shelby Charter Township, this studio allows you to paint your own masterpiece for just $25 for a two-hour class ($35 for a three-hour class). Take a look at the calendar for upcoming classes, including this couple’s night out piece on Saturday, or this winter night painting on Tuesday, Feb. 23.

Picasso’s Grapevine

Here, Picasso’s motto is, “everything’s more fun with wine!” Who can’t agree with that? If you’re interested in signing up for a class, find the calendar here. You can also book public or private parties, which are perfect for bachelorette parties or corporate events.

Adventure starts with a vehicle that’s up for anything. Trailblazer combines comfort you want, the versatility you need, and the technology to make every moment count.

While there are plenty of classes to choose from at the Clarkston studio, if you’re a serious pet lover, you might be interested in Love My Pet Portraits, where you get to paint the likeness of your dog or cat onto canvas!

Inspiration Uncorked

A bit different than the above studios that guide you through a canvas painting, here you’ll learn how to paint scarves or wine glasses. The Ferndale studio also offers a variety of other art classes, including silver clay jewelry making and glass fusing.

Sign up for a class online, and get in touch with your artsy side with wine glass painting on Tuesday, Feb. 16 or silk scarf painting on Sunday, Feb. 28.

The Painted Glass

Located in Redford, The Painted Glass is another place where you can paint your own wine glass! Perfect if you enjoy the occasional glass of vino at home.

Classes are held on Fridays and Saturdays each week, and two hours of instruction costs $35 (all supplies included). The Painted Glass is the ideal venue for hosting a special event or enjoying couple’s night out, whether you’re particularly artistic or not.

Don’t spend the remainder of winter on the couch. Get out there and express yourself!
