It is no mystery that finding gluten-free meals while dining out can be a difficult task. But this is 2015, and more and more restaurants have begun to produce gluten-free or “gluten-friendly” menus. If you require a diet free of gluten, or with limited gluten, then you’re in the right place. Listed below are some Metro Detroit establishments offering just that.

Paesano is located in Ann Arbor and serves Italian cuisine. I know what you’re thinking: “How can pasta be free of gluten?” Well, with the exception of a few meals such as tortellini and ravioli, almost anything on the menu can be substituted with gluten-free noodles, or can be served with vegetables upon request. Spaghetti, lasagna and other dishes are available gluten free!

Amici’s Pizza & Living Room is a Certified Green Restaurant in Berkley. It offers both gluten-free and vegan options. The restaurant uses soy cheese on its vegan and vegetarian options and has gluten-free crust! Amici’s was also voted “Best Gourmet Pizza” by the Metro Times. The menu offers anything from Black Bean Pizza to Fresh Spinach Pizza.

Moo Cluck Moo has locations in both Dearborn Heights and Canton and is entirely gluten-free. As in, anything you order does not contain gluten: the buns, the beef, the chicken, you get it. In addition, the cheese and dairy products are fresh and all natural. You can read more about what kind of food Moo Cluck Moo serves online, along with the menu.

How do you make a truck your own? We're redefining what it means to drive a pickup. With luxurious comfort, a world-class entertainment system, and a 6-position Multi-Flex Tailgate, Silverado is the change you've been waiting for.

The Little Mustard Seed Café and Shoppe, in New Baltimore, offers a full gluten-free menu, and also offers dairy-free and vegan options. The café’s food is made with certified organic ingredients, and also uses locally sourced ingredients every chance it gets! From Michigan Salad to organic Turkey Bruschetta, to great dessert options, all of the food here is free of gluten.

If you have a gluten-free diet, and have been having trouble finding places to go out to eat, I hope this article helps. All of the above establishments and several others in the Metro Detroit area are becoming more and more conscious of gluten. Enjoy, Metro Detroiters.
