In an unexpected turn of events, the weather in southeast Michigan has been absolutely gorgeous these past few days, which could only mean one thing. Well, it could mean multiple things, but the point is that many bars and restaurants have opened up the patios during this warm spell.
This is the time of year when we love to highlight establishments with great patios. Without further ado, here are some options for the 2016 edition.
Northern Lights Lounge
Any day of the week is good to check out the patio at Detroit’s Northern Lights, but this week is especially perfect. Since the kitchen is currently being updated, the Northern Lights staff is grilling out on the patio! Don’t fret; the bar is still open, too. The patio is quite spacious and offers plenty of seating. The lounge also offers free shuffleboard!
Dog lovers, bring your pet to the patio here on Tuesday, May 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the Drinking with Dogs event hosted by Canine to Five.
Monk Beer Abbey
This cozy bar is located right next to Bastone Brewery, and has recently opened its patio. The kitchen makes everything from scratch. It offers healthy, but tasty options such as the Pulled Chicken Waffle Sandwich, Mussels, Chorizo Mac ‘N’ Cheese and more. It also serves Bastone brews, as well as many Belgian beers. It is a perfect location to sip on a beer outside while taking in the sights and sounds of downtown Royal Oak.
Tavern on the Main
Tavern on the Main, located in Clawson, has an award-winning patio. Many patrons frequent outdoor dining here in the warmer months, and the patio is a perfect setting for private parties and events as well. Plenty of craft beers, wine and cocktails are available to sip, and the menu offers Greek and American favorites.
