Residents of Michigan have the luxury of being surrounded by the Great Lakes, and countless other bodies of water. Therefore, many of us grew up taking trips to lake houses, riding on boats or swimming in these gorgeous waters. Due to our state’s geography, boating rentals and equipment are a necessity. The following places allow you to rent or buy boats, watercrafts, accessories and everything else you may need for a successful day on the lake!

Rose Harbor Marina, 13468 Laplaisance Rd., Monroe, offers many rental options. In fact, it offers the largest fleet of rental boats in western Lake Erie. Rose Harbor’s selection can accommodate four to 12 passengers and options include a 28-foot “Partytoon” boat, 21-foot “Fishtoon” boat, 21-foot pontoon boat and more. The boats vary in horsepower and price.

Orion Marine Center, 10 Park Blvd., Lake Orion, offers pontoon rentals. These 24-foot Berkshire Pontoons are new every season and are either 60 horsepower or 115 horsepower. Monday through Friday rentals cost $200 for a half day or $300 for a full day. Saturday and Sundays are $350 for a full day, and on evenings Monday through Saturday, rentals cost $200 from 6 p.m. to sunset. Renters must be 18 years or older and possess a valid driver’s license.

Anglers Point, 28955 William P Rosso Hwy., Chesterfield, is located on Lake St. Clair. In addition to its large selection of live bait for fishing, it offers boat rentals and loft rentals. There are a few boat options, including pontoons. In order to rent a boat, patrons must be 21 years or older, possess a valid driver’s license and have prior boating experience. There is a three-hour minimum for boat rentals.

A day at any of the Metroparks is already a great choice, but add in fun in the water and you’re in for an unforgettable day.

Turbo Water Sports, 24026 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, provides a plethora of options for those looking to have some fun on Lake St. Clair. Jet Skis, fly boards, hoverboards and other fun products are available for rent. Rental rates are available online and you can also capture your experience with a video for an additional $15.

Whether you want to fish, party, ride the waves or swim; any of the above options can satisfy that itch. Whatever you do, be safe, mind the rental rules and have a good time. Happy boating!
