Ah, bacon. It’s loved by many around the world and for good reason: it’s delicious. Save for a doctor’s recommendation that you ease up on the red meat, bacon can be the thing that wakes you up in the morning or the midnight snack you treat yourself to on those restless nights. But, what about delicious bacon dishes from some of your favorite metro Detroit restaurants and eateries? Look no further, my bacon-loving friend.

“Sho’Nuff” @ Mudgie’s Deli

Three words: cherrywood smoked bacon. It’s a staple of Mudgie’s Deli in Corktown that can be added to just about anything on the menu, but it’s the Sho’Nuff that’s caught our eye. Roasted turkey breast with some of that cherrywood smoked bacon, strawberry cream cheese, spinach, Slow Jams strawberry preserves on a toasted multi-grain bread, served warm. What more do you need to hear?

“Sunday Breakfast” @ Treat Dreams

While Treat Dreams in Ferndale features a weekly, rotating menu of ice cream, sorbet and vegan ice cream, there’s one ice cream flavor that makes us hit the like button harder than we ever have before: Sunday Breakfast (maple, bacon & waffles). See, each Sunday, Treat Dreams posts the new flavors of the week on its Facebook page for all of us to drool over and we can’t wait to see those two little words pop up on our news feed.

“French Toast & Bacon” @ Taste Love Cupcakes

Nothing says love like bacon, which we can only imagine is the reason Taste Love Cupcakes in Royal Oak created the beautiful concoction that is the french toast & bacon cupcake. As one of Taste Love’s specialty cupcakes, the french toast & bacon cupcake must be ordered with 72 hours of advance notice and at least a dozen cupcakes minimum. Owners Michelle & Yolanda and their staff have made close to 300,000 cupcakes since opening in 2011, and we like to think the french toast & bacon cupcake accounts for probably half of that.

With best-in-class cargo space, top of the line safety features, and cutting edge technology, the Chevy Suburban is perfect for any family. See the Suburban's available features that can keep up with your family's lifestyle.

“Candy-Coated Bacon Strips” @ Green Lantern Lounge

With 55 years of experience and history making pizza and other delicious delectables out of its Madison Heights location, Green Lantern Lounge outdoes itself with the candy-coated bacon strips appetizer. Each strip of bacon is coated in caramelized brown sugar, barbecued with a dash of cayenne pepper and serve on a skewer. These otherworldly gems can be ordered as three pieces for $2.99 or seven for $5.99.
