From soccer practice to grocery runs, the Chevy Trailblazer is designed to make your everyday outings a breeze.
Halloween is only one day in October, but it certainly doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate it all month. From haunted locations, attractions, and even hayrides, everything seems to be haunted during the month of October. Seeing that today is Friday the 13th, we thought it would be the perfect time to highlight local theaters showing some the scariest movies of all-time. So grab a large tub of popcorn to hide behind and enjoy these horror classics on the big screen.
The classic Michigan Theater in downtown Ann Arbor is having not one, but two Halloween inspired movie series throughout October. The theater will be running a Classic Monster series along with a Stranger and Stranger series throughout the whole month. The Classic Monster series will include movies like “The Mummy” on October 16, “The Wolfman” on October 23, and “The Monster Squad” on October 30. The Stranger and Stranger series, which is also a celebration of the Netflix series “Stranger Things,” will include “The Mist” on October 19 and “Polergeist” on October 26. The Penn Theatre is a small old-school theater in Plymouth, and every year they are known for their Shock-tober Classics series. The series might be halfway over, but it’s not too late to enjoy some early cinema scares as the theater will be showing “War of the Worlds” on October 19 and “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein” on October 26. The Landmark Main Art Theater is a place where metro Detroit movie buffs can enjoy a classic film every Friday and Saturday at midnight. The theater will be spooking audiences with “Friday the 13th” on October 13 and 14, “Halloween” on October 20 and 21, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on October 27 and 28, and “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” on November 3 and 4. From soccer practice to grocery runs, the Chevy Trailblazer is designed to make your everyday outings a breeze. The historic Redford Theatre shows some of cinema’s best classic films, and that will continue in the month of October. If you’re looking for a fun, spooky option for the kids the theater will be showing “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” on October 20. Adults can catch two of the greatest horror movies of all-time with “Psycho” on October 27 and 28 and “Halloween” on October 28. Cinema Detroit shows the best indie films currently in Hollywood, while also showcasing little seen classic gems. The theater will be hosting the Zombies on Third Street event which will showcase the 1932 classic zombie film “White Zombie.” If zombies are too gory for you, the theater will also be showing “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on October 27, 28, and Halloween night.
