Spring in the Motor City means many things, but a new season always means it’s time for new restaurant openings! If you consider yourself a “foodie” (and who doesn’t?), you’re going to want the lowdown on the latest and greatest restaurants in the area, as well as a few to look forward to.

Here are a few suggestions:

Savannah Blue

This contemporary soul food eatery opened in downtown Detroit mid-February and offers a menu full of Southern flavors. Cocktails are crafted with fresh squeezed juices, and the menu offers an extensive wine list.

Entrees include Seared Salmon, Twice Dredged Fried Chicken and a selection of SVB Flat Breads.

Whether you're going out on a fishing trip, discovering new hiking spots, or heading out for a weekend of camping, the Trailblazer is an ideal companion for your active lifestyle.

Sweet Lorraine’s Mac n’ Brewz

A spin-off of Sweet Lorraine’s Fabulous Mac n’ Cheez, Mac n’ Brewz is located in Midtown across from Wayne State University. If you love all things beer and mac and cheese, you’ll want to make your way to this eatery, which opened at the end of February.

Tasty mac and cheese options include BLT Mac, Buffalo Chicken Mac, Cajun Shrimp Mac, Extreme Veggie Mac and Philly Cheesesteak Mac.

The Peterboro

After much anticipation, this Cass Corridor Chinese restaurant is now open to the public. Having officially opened just before St. Paddy’s Day, this menu offers dishes that are bursting with authentic flavors.

Try the Crab Rangoon, Vegetable Fried Rice, Mongolian Hanger Steak or Almond Boneless Chicken.

Additional restaurants coming to Metro D this spring include: Katoi (Detroit), Pretzel Bell (Ann Arbor), Pops for Italian (Ferndale), Atomic Chicken (Detroit) and Grey Ghost (Detroit).

Enjoy dining in the D this spring!
