Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Southeast Michigan

St. Paddy’s Day is near, and that means it’s time for festivities and Irish cheer in the Motor City! Whether you’re ready for a parade or looking for a bar party in which to celebrate the luck o’ the Irish, you’ll find both (and more) within the next week.

Detroit Experience Factory Tour

The Detroit Experience Factory, or DXF, will host Know Before You Go, a St. Paddy’s Day Bar Tour, on Friday, March 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Attend the 21 and up tour, and you’ll get the inside scoop on where to go during Corktown’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday.

There will be three stops on the tour, including Bobcat Bonnie’s. Tickets cost $15.

Detroit St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The 58th annual Detroit St. Patrick’s Parade starts at noon on Sunday, March 13 at the corner of 6th Street and Michigan Avenue. Don’t miss out on marching pipe and drum bands, floats, clowns, marching units and more! Find the parade route here.

The Old Shillelagh

One of Detroit’s favorite Irish bars, The Old Shillelagh opens bright and early at 7 a.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, complete with two heated tents outdoors. Leading up to the big day of shenanigans, check out St. Practice Day on Saturday, March 12 with live entertainment, courtesy of Blackmist, beginning at 1 p.m.

Additional venues hosting St. Patrick’s Day parties on Thursday, March 17, include: On the Dunes (Commerce), Bailey’s (Canton), Rochester Tap Room (Rochester), O’Toole’s (Royal Oak), Conor O’Neill’s (Ann Arbor), O’Malley’s (Livonia), and Dooley’s Irish Tavern (Sterling Heights, Mount Clemens and Roseville).
