Whether you’re a self-proclaimed Star Wars fan or not, everyone knows the famous line, “May the force be with you,” which is the inspiration behind May the fourth being “Star Wars Day” around the world. You can either celebrate by watching “A New Hope” for the thousandth time, or by attending one of these awesome themed parties in the metro Detroit area. The force is definitely strong with these events.

Star Wars Trivia Night

Show off your knowledge of who actually shot first (we know it’s Han) at The Claddagh’s Star Wars Trivia Night. The Livonia bar will be hosting this event for free, but the themed trivia nights tend to fill up fast so be sure to RSVP ahead of time!

May the Fourth Star Wars Party

The 2nd and Charles bookstore in Utica will be hosting a special Star Wars Day party from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. The party will include Jedi training, coloring and activities for kids, Star Wars trivia, and a cosplay contest. There’ll also be special deals on Star Wars collectibles all day long, so be sure to head down there for some Force-inducing fun!

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” IMAX Screening

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has the distinct honor of being the highest grossing movie of all-time in the United States and it re-energized a franchise that had been mostly dormant for a decade. Now you can relive the special J.J. Abrams’ directed blockbuster on the ginormous IMAX screen at The Henry Ford’s Giant Screen Experience.

From transporting food and goods to having enough room for pets and family, owning the right SUV is essential for pet owners. See the available features that make the Chevy Tahoe a pet lover's dream.

May the Fourth/Cinco de Quatro Party

Combining the fun of Star Wars with the deliciousness of B. Nektar, the May the Fourth/Cinco de Cuatro party is sure to be a fun time for Jedi and Padawans alike! The party will unveil the new B. Nektar-style Old Fashion called the Yoda and will have the local food van, Hero or Villain, on site.
